Venture Online Teacher
B.S. in Psychology from Campbell University and M.A.T. in Elementary Education from Liberty University. I hold a cleared Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with an ELA1 authorization. Additionally, I hold a Commonwealth of Virginia Postgraduate Professional Teaching License (PreK-6) with an ESOL endorsement. I have taught grades K-8 in the traditional classroom for over 15 years in public, private, and preparatory schools.
I enjoy spending time with my husband, my children, and my dogs. I also love to travel and go on adventures to experience new things.
I love reading books by Patricia Cornwell, James Patterson, and Nicholas Sparks (because they are mostly based in eastern North Carolina, where I am from)
My favorite subject in school was ELA. I still love it today, especially grammar.
I am originally from Emerald Isle, NC, but I have moved a lot over the years because my husband is active duty in the Marine Corps. I have three adult children. Our oldest, Peter, graduated from JMU, and lives in northern VA. Claudia lives in northern CA, and is currently finishing her degree in criminal psychology through Liberty University. Our youngest daughter, Genevieve, began college at Point Loma Nazarene University last fall and wants to be a speech pathologist specializing in children with special needs. I absolutely love dogs! I have three dachshunds: Diego, Franck, and Klaus. I also have a golden retriever named Olive.
