Academy Teacher
I attended the University of California, Riverside where I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a major emphasis in Spanish and a minor in Education. While at UCR I studied abroad at the University of Costa Rica, San Jose, where I developed fluency in Spanish. I later obtained my Multiple Subject credential from California State University, San Bernardino.
I like anything that has a creative aspect to it. For example, I like to draw, paint, play guitar, and build RC cars. In the future, I would like to explore the idea of writing and illustrating children’s books with my wife.
Some of my favorite books are children’s books. The creativity and imagination with which they are written provide a magical experience full of imagery! I would have to say my top three favorite books are: Shel Sylverstein’s “Where the Sidewalk Ends”; Gary Paulsen’s “Hatchet”; and Beverly Cleary’s “Ralph S. Mouse”. Additionally, I enjoy adult fiction and classic novels.
When I was a young student, I enjoyed all the subjects. I believe this is why I ended up pursuing my multiple subject credential and becoming an elementary teacher. However, I have always had a fondness for language, reading, and writing.
I speak, read, and write Spanish fluently, and have recently begun learning Tagalog, the national language of the Philippines.
