Springs’ Venture High School staff spotlighted 10th-grade student Maddie Keeney, “who exemplifies dedication, leadership, and service both in and out of the digital classroom.” The flexibility of online programs like Venture, the staff believes, empowers students like Maddie “to excel in the classroom while pursuing incredible passions in their local communities.”
Maddie is maintaining a 4.0 GPA while remaining active in the Lake Elsinore Explorer Program, which exposes her to the fundamentals of law enforcement, civic service, and personal leadership. From engaging in specialized training to working directly alongside local deputies, the Explorer Program “provides Maddie with invaluable opportunities to build essential real-world skills in teamwork, communication, and civic responsibility.”
Maddie added, “We also have opportunities to interact with local deputies and help support our community through different events and programs.” These events include family gatherings such as Movies in the Park, and law enforcement events such as the Temecula Torch Run and Sheriff Award Ceremony.
The Venture staff concluded, “We are so proud to see Maddie leverage virtual high school’s flexible schedule to serve others, develop into a future community leader, and maintain exceptional academic standing.”
