Clayton Niehaus, an 8th grade student at Springs’ Flabob Airport Preparatory Academy (FAPA), took first place in the 2026 Junior Bull Rider Championship.
Clayton has been bull riding for eight years and practices twice weekly. He has won many awards during this time, including being the 2023 Jurupa Valley Pro Rodeo Junior Bulls Champion, the 2024 Santa Barbara Pro Rodeo Junior Bull Rider and four times a IMBA World Qualifier. In the 2021 Junior Steer Rider Championship, he competed against the top bull riders in his age category in the nation.
Clayton hopes to go to a rodeo college and compete as a professional bull rider. He hopes one day to be a PRCA stock contractor, supplying bucking bulls, broncs, and timed-event cattle for Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association events. Other activities he plans to begin are demo car racing at the Perris Auto Speedway and bareback horseback riding.
