Springs’ Otay Ranch Academy for the Arts (ORAA) has a new U.S.A. map painted on the ground in its pick up and drop off area, reported Principal Brynne Dukes. The map was painted by teacher John Proctor’s son, who is working towards being an Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop #895.
Brynne said, “The kids were playing on it, jumping from state to state, and pointing to states they have been to or lived in.” The map is the first project of ORAA’s peaceful playground. Other elements to be added include areas for 4-square, volleyball, soccer, basketball, wall ball, a Gaga court, hopscotch, checker/chess board, and tricycle track.
