Jordan McKinney, 16, is a 10th grade student in Springs’ Venture Online program. He lives in Eastvale. Among his many activities, Jordan likes playing on the Springs varsity basketball team.
He explained, “I enjoy practicing and competing with my teammates every week. Being a part of the team gives me something to look forward to after school.” He plans to continue playing basketball in college. He also likes art, music, working as a DJ, and is active in his church. He likes to write and completed his first book in the 8th grade. Future plans include studying law.
His mother, Melannie, said that Venture Online has been a good fit for him. Since joining the program two years ago, “he has truly enjoyed the flexibility and inclusiveness that he’s experienced being a part of this program. Jordan has learned how to be proactive in his studies and is now more self-motivated when it comes to completing his homework assignments.”
Jordan likes working in online sessions with his teachers, which allows him to ask questions and interact with classmates. Melannie concluded, “Overall, our family is very happy with the flexibility and academic structure Venture Online offers.”
