Foundation Welcomes Item Donations for Drawing, Raises and Distributes $87,000 in 2022-23

The Summit Springs Educational Foundation (SSEF) will hold an opportunity drawing in August to raise money for scholarships for Springs graduating seniors and to fund projects in Springs classrooms to enhance students’ education. The Foundation leadership is requesting that friends of Springs donate items—electronic equipment, gift certificates for store items or meals at restaurants, or other desired consumer items—to be given away as prizes in the opportunity drawing. To donate an item or for additional information, please contact Bre Julian at (760) 644-2386 or bre.julian@springscs.org.

The Summit Springs Educational Foundation had its best year ever in the 2022-23 school year, raising and distributing more than $87,000 in grant money to Springs graduating seniors to use for college and trade school and to fund projects at Springs school sites. Major donors included the Girard Foundation, which funded staff and classroom equipment at Springs’ two sites in San Diego County, the Otay Ranch Academy, and Vista Student Center, the Anderson Children’s Foundation, which funded an enhancement of Palm Academy’s animation and recording studio, and the Ekstrom Foundation, which funded seven senior scholarships for college and trade school.

Steaven Chan, SSEF president, said, “Our SSEF board of directors is most grateful to all of our donors who have made a major contribution towards improving the quality of education for our Springs students.”

He invited Springs families and friends of the school to consider becoming donors in the new school year. Click here to visit the SSEF website to learn more about the work of the foundation, click on the “Contact Us” tab with questions, or offer a donation of any size.
