Magnolia Family Combines Skills to Sew Masks

Magnolia Student Center students Mikalia Paul (12th grade), Arionna Paul (6th) and Ian Paul (2nd) have been working with their parents to create masks to assist in the battle against COVID-19.

Carrie Dacharux-Paul, their mother, is a seamstress who was asked by a friend to make face masks. She did, and more orders poured in, some coming from as far away as Virginia.

Carrie said, “I soon realized we were in a unique position and had the resources to quickly receive, respond to, make, ship and fill those orders. The orders have been pouring in and we are working together as a family to meet the needs of our community.”

Each of the children in the San Bernardino family plays a role. Mikaila preps, packages and mails orders. Arionna irons and helps line up fabrics. Ian helps package and label pick-up orders.

Carrie said, “I’m very proud of our 3 kiddos … See a need, fill a need, that’s been our phrase [during Spring break].  Small business, small family, big plans!”
