I hope all of our Springs families have gotten off to a good start for the new school year. Please remember our Springs staff is here to serve you, so if you have any needs or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the appropriate staff member.
Over the years, it has given me great pleasure to see our Springs students graduate and go on to do great things with their lives. One such student that I’d like to highlight this month is Trace Parker, 18, who was a student in Springs’ Flabob Airport Preparatory Academy (FAPA) for five years before graduating in June. Participation in FAPA’s classes helped spark in him an interest in flying, and he went on after graduation to earn his private pilot’s license. It is his plan one day to fly business jets professionally.
Trace is from Fontana, and chose Springs as his charter school of choice because of our personalized style of learning, and because FAPA has an “amazing staff and teachers who want the best for all their students.” He continued, “The smaller classroom sizes allow for a deeper relationship between the teachers and the students.”
Trace has been taking flying lessons from a private flight instructor at the Flabob airport. He was able to earn his pilot’s license over the summer after completing the required 40 flight hours and passing a written test and a flight test with a Designated Pilot Examiner.
Congratulations to Trace, and we wish him the very best as he pursues his aviation career!
Sincerely,
Dr. Kathleen Hermsmeyer
Superintendent
