Ashton Christensen, a senior in Springs’ KEYS program, completed his Eagle Scout project for the Springs Lake Elsinore Student Center.
He joined with his fellow scouts in Troop 2011, and family and friends to construct two canopy shade structures at the Center.
Ashton helped raise the needed funds by requesting donations of recyclables. He then worked with a group to custom-fit the canopies for the Center’s lunch areas in need of shade. Ashton has been attending Springs schools since 5th grade. He said, “The Springs staff has really made a difference in my life. They care about their students and really helped me develop a love for learning.”
Ashton plans to attend college after graduation.
