Venture Online is an independent study program where students meet regularly with their teachers in a virtual environment. Students log on to the versatile online learning tool ‘Canvas’, where they access lesson plans and complete assignments.
With the unique ability to take your education on the road and follow your passion, Venture students can plan their day in a variety of ways in order to meet their school requirements. The Learning Style Profile sheds light on possibilities for success providing the student for a printable format of recommended daily schedules when needed. Our students can plan 3-4 hours per day on our student planner found in our virtual library packed with resources.
We would like to share some powerful messages from our students and parents:
My name is Renton and I am only 16 years old and I already know what I want to do with my life. I want to race motocross professionally. I had no clue where to start, but I knew I would have to be homeschooled. The format of my previous homeschool was too complicated and the work was endless. Then one of my friends that I race with, that also attends Venture Online, suggested I try this program. The staff understand the demands of my training schedule. I would like to thank everyone at Venture. I will have the opportunity to do what I want to do with my life. This is the best school program out there. I cannot thank everyone enough for all of the great work that’s being done here. I will not forget this amazing experience.
My name is Taryn and I am a Junior in High School. Venture provides me with a great learning experience. Since I enrolled in Venture, I have been able to balance school and motocross. I would like to thank all of my teachers and most of all, Andrea Leib, for everything they have done for me. By working around my riding schedule and helping me throughout the school year, I’ve been able to stay on track.
My name is Erica. I am a 9th grader with Venture Online. My parents began home schooling for various reasons but we have continued so that my sister’s and I have the freedom to travel and sing. It is difficult for a young person who wants to reach for out-of-the-box experiences to get the time off from public school. I am very thankful for Venture and for the freedom it allows me to follow my dreams. I, along with my family, sing in a bluegrass/country band. I play bass, banjo, and guitar as well as sing needed lead and harmony parts. I enjoy very much being on stage and entertaining. We chose bluegrass music due to its American roots and the overall wholesomeness of the music. I also enjoy cooking, cake decorating, twirling baton, and photography. I do plan to keep singing and playing, however, oddly enough I do not plan to study music in college but wish to gain a degree in journalism where I can utilize my photography skills. Venture has granted me the privilege to learn and seek out my dreams and expectations. Who could ask for more in a school?
