ACE – Assistant Classroom Educator
I earned my Bachelor’s from California Baptist University, and has been teaching in the Inland Empire since 1993. Over those past 20 years, I had taught all sorts of subject matter across many different settings. I began my teaching career at private school, teaching high school Spanish. I then joined the Springs Charter Schools family, teaching at both the Riverside and Magnolia Student Centers where I taught everything from Science to Spanish, from Cooking to Robotics. In 2011, I came to join the Magnolia Student Center staff full-time, where I now teache high school Spanish, First and Junior Lego Leagues, and help out wherever I can around our school.
In addition to being a long-time Springs Charter Schools teacher, I also have coached Lego League since 2007, earned many specialized training certificates, and become a certified CERT member.
More than anything else outside of teaching, I can be found volunteering, using my bilingual skills. Additionally, I enjoy to trek moderate to advance hiking trails across the Inland Empire, and when I can, kayak and swim at any of our lovely local beaches.
When I curl up with a book, it is usually of the personal growth variety, whether is a spiritual or a health and wellness book.
While I have always appreciated learning, I never really had a specific favorite subject in school. Instead, my love of learning came to life when I started home schooling my eldest daughter, and this love came across many different subject matter. As demonstrated by the wide variety of courses that I have taught, I do not get excited for solely a specific subject, but rather to have any opportunity to teach, learn and grow.
I spend a lot of my time in nature. I have climbed to the top of the Mountain Skyline in Corona, kayaked my way around Cabo, and swam with the stingrays in the Florida Keys.
